The following is a list of flat palm beetles (Mycteridae: Hemipeplinae) of the world. I have been working on this group as my masters thesis. Thirty-one species are described so far. Some more which I am describing are listed here. The species added by me are given a green "NEW" tag beside their names.
Flat Palm Beetles are small beetles in family Mycteridae. They are often dorsoventrally flattened and are found in unopened fronds of different species of monocots, especialy palms, hence the common name. Since it has only two genera, Hemipeplus and Holopeplus and the latter is monotypic, I think it is best to categorize them based on the biogeographic realms.
