Butterflies, as keystone species, play a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance, but they are facing unprecedented threats due to anthropogenic climate change and habitat destruction. To mitigate this crisis, we can take simple yet effective measures such as planting native plants in our gardens and reducing pesticide use. Additionally, raising awareness about the importance of butterflies through captivating photographs and educational videos can inspire action. With approximately 20,000 described species worldwide, each with unique host plant (and sometimes animal) dependencies, the loss of these species would have far-reaching consequences for ecosystem sustainability. By taking action now, we can help preserve these delicate creatures and the ecosystems they inhabit.
